    Hello,
First thank you for answering this question. Over the past three months I’ve been having progressive parasthesia and burning pain starting in my right hand then progressing to my mynentire right arm. Then the left hand started pins and needles and now I have limited use of both hands. Of course I have neck pain but it has been progressing worse lately. It was strange to me that the pain started in my hand and spread upward. I’ve always had limited mobility in my neck. I also have a herniated disc at L5-S1 that has caused me physical therapy and pain in my lower back and legs.
What should I do? My MRI cervical spine is as follows:

    C2-C3 no prominent disc herniation

C3-C4 central and bilateral paracentral to forminal disc osteophyte complex abutting bilateral ventral nerve roots.

C4-C5 very small central disc extrusion abutting the ventral aspect of spinal cord. Eccentric to left.

C5-C6 central and left greater than right paracentral to foraminal disc osteophyte complex, abutting and displacing the bilateral ventral nerve roots, and resulting in flattening the ventral aspect of spinal cord eccentric to the left.

C6-C7 mild central left paracentral disc osteophyte complex, abutting the left ventral nerve root resulting in mild flattening the left ventral aspect of spinal cord

C7-T1 no prominent disc herniation noted.

It can occur that nerve compression symptoms start in the hands and move up but carpel tunnel and cubital tunnel syndromes also can cause those symptoms. https://neckandback.com/conditions/carpel-tunnel-syndrome/ and https://neckandback.com/conditions/cubital-tunnel-syndrome/.

If your symptoms become worse with neck extension (bend backwards), more likely the source is your neck. You can both test the diagnosis and potential treat the symptoms with a selective nerve root block-probably at C5-6 https://neckandback.com/treatments/epidural-injections-and-selective-nerve-root-blocks-diagnostic-and-therapeutic-neck/ and using a pain diary https://neckandback.com/treatments/pain-diary-instructions-for-spinal-injections-neck/

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer me. I wish you amazing success!! I was being tested for suspected MS. My brain MRI was normal.
Also what could this mean? I was rereading my MRI and this was mentioned. I don’t understand prolongation.

Subtle ill-defined T2 prolongation in the region of the structure spinal cord on the sagital T2 weighted images such as at the level of C4. Not well seen on the axial T2 or the sagital inversion recovery images.
