I am 22 year old ,I had a accident before 3 months in which i had C2 type3 odontoid and hangman’s fracture. So doctors fixed my c1 c2 by transarticular screw fixation and now i want to remove these screw so that i can regain my proper neck movement

You might have some difficulty. Three things come to mind. First, these screws go through the C1-2 articular surfaces and removing them will leave large defects in those surfaces which could become arthritic over time and quite painful. The second is that this surgery is designed to fuse C1 to C2. If you have a fusion, then removing the hardware is a mute point. Thirdly, C2 dens fractures don’t heal well. If your fracture line is still present in the dens, you cannot remove the screws as you would become unstable.
