Sorry to hear about your shortened office visit. This is unfortunately not uncommon especially in a nationalized health care system. Can you get other insurance and then visit here in the USA as this might be the only way in the short term that you could receive good care?

I would assume that if you show up again in three months on their doorstep with the same complaints, they would not ignore you and the MRI would be performed.

We do have private insurance but not sure if they pay for mri. My spouse has benefits through great west life. They cover dental eye care drugs etc. ill have to check knto that. Im just frustrated as I had questions and concerns and completely forgot about them as I felt rushed. If I sneeze or cough my sciatic nerve still siezes up? Should I be concerned at this point? What about my upper body shifting to the left when I stand up at times is this normal after 3 months since surgery?

The short answer is yes but there are some caveats. Great West Insurance will most likely indicate that you have already been seen and covered under the national program.

I assume that you will need a consultation from an independent surgeon that will indicate that you need a new MRI. They may or may not pay for this consultation but should cover expenses after that.

The shifting is called a list and this is an involuntary positioning to “get off the nerve” (reduce the pressure on the nerve to reduce pain).

I finally managed to get a new MRI since ive been having ongoing leg pain! This is what it says. At L5S1 there is a small right posterolateral disc osteophyte. The size is much smaller than on the prior exam. It does however appear to contact the right intrathecal nerve root. There is no central stenosis and no foraminal stenosis. No complications related to microfiscectomy. Surgery was March of this year.
Could you explain to me what this all means and would I of benefited from a different proceedure or is this simply an aftermath of surgery may of caused?
    Thanks in advance!

Also what can be done at this point, if anything? Can this fix itself over time?
