    Hey Dr Coleman,

I fully understand you being wary of viruses…. fear not, we have youtube! (now I know you have no problem going on this site as it was your youtube videos that led me here!)

The images that are significant are at 0.05 and 0.30

As I mentioned the radiologist report is in Chinese so it basically useless.

There is also a download link in the youtube description to the MRI image file which for you to take a closer look (the link is a secured file storage website that I pay to use, there are no viruses on that file)

Hope that sets your mind at rest :)

I am just looking for a report on the structural issues here, at the moment I am feeling quite scared as to the fragility of my back.

    Thanks again

That was a brilliant way to display your MRI. You have three degenerative discs at L3-S1 which are not causing symptoms. You have a moderate sized disc herniation at L5-S1 which appears to be compressing the S1 root on the right.

As you noted previously, you have no motor weakness so that is a positive. With continued chronic pain, you have two choices; an epidural injection and/or a microdiscectomy. You burn no bridges with the epidural but I suspect that your relief will be short lived secondary to the length of time you have suffered. I might be wrong but the long term success rate is not high with an epidural.

I would consider a microdiscectomy if I were in your shoes. The success rate may not be as high as if you had surgery in the first 90 days, but I think the success rate is still high and better than what your are experiencing now.

    Hi Hutchinson,

I read your post regarding the problems you have been having with your legs. I have straightening of cervical spine problem that I have been dealing with for the past 9 months. I am 31 years old just like yourself with good head. It all started last year when I was regular at the gym and had been on Accutane for 4 months. Im not sure but I feel Isotretinoin (accutane) had something to do with it, although I haven’t found anything on the internet suggesting Accutane might have caused it but there are many other horror stories of people who have had bad experience being on accutane.

How long were you on Accutane and did it cause you any major long lasting side effects? I have had constant neck stiffness and mild headache for 9 months now.

How is your leg now? DId you get it operated?

    Hope your doing better.

    Omer
