    Hello Doctor

I had a microdisectomy 4 weeks ago. Everything seemed to be going to plan and then last week I jarred my back getting out of the car I think. I was in a bit of pain for a couple of days, but it has largely subsided.

However, I am now starting to get sensation(tingling/numbness) in my other leg (left leg) and in my toes. The original pain was in the left hamstring.

    Have I re-herniated?

It is possible but unlikely that you have a recurrent disc herniation. It would be highly unlikely that you have developed a recurrent herniation in your opposite side (“I am now starting to get sensation(tingling/numbness) in my other leg”).

Give yourself some time to recover.
