Thank you ,
I’ve tried the nerve block and didn’t get any positive results. The doctor that tried to do the procedure couldn’t get through the opening he tried for about an hour and he gave up nor did he report this to the doctor. The nurse had clarified this with us. I’ve also tried Physio and for the first three days I’m in quite a bit of pain.
What type of surgery would help to eleviate some of the pain. I already finding it difficult to stand and air for long periods of time. Sleeping is very painful
To determine the type of surgery would require my evaluating the lumbar X-rays including flexion/extension and the MRI. The procedure could be as simple as a 2 level decompression to a lumbar decompression and fusion (TLIF). What level and side was the attempted injection?

I was told that artificial disc on L4 and L5 will help. But I’m looking for some other opinions. Unfortunately in Ontario they do not do disc replacement and because of the two failed microdiscectomy other doctors have said there’s nothing they can do for me. It’s very difficult to live with the pain.
Well with the new info of 2 prior microdiscectomies (interestingly not noted by the radiologist) and with what I assume vertebral collapses due to degeneration and discectomies, you probably are not a candidate for an artificial disc replacement. Lumbar disc replacements generally don’t work well or have longevity so maybe Ontario’s restrictions are a blessing in disguise.
