I have nerve impingement at L5/S1, please Sir tell me, can it be operated on and cured? It is causing numb feet on outer and under side.
The numbness gets worse if I am up and about doing things, then my Big Toe goes completely numb. Drs have refused to help me even though nerve conduction studies showed asymmetric motor responses in lower limbs.

Two years ago I had one episode of Foot Drop on left foot, Dr at hospital said I was at risk of paralysis, rushed me to emergency room, asked for me to be seen urgently by spinal surgeon, but I was only seen by a young assistant who was not qualified to assess me.
    Thank you.

You sound like you have foraminal stenosis or possibly lateral recess stenosis at L5-S1. A cut and paste copy of your radiological MRI and X-ray reports would be helpful. Since you had foot drop and this is the L5-S1 level, you must have foraminal stenosis as foot drop originates from the L5 root most of the time and this root exits out the foramen at L5-S1.

Yes, it is surgically fixable but without x-Rays or MRI findings, I cannot tell you what procedure would give you the fix that you need.
