    I have a daughter. 8.y.o.
Today RMN shows us she has hemivertebra c4. We are from Moldova. In our country nobody knows what’s this. We don’t know if it can be operated and how she can grow up.

A hemivertebra is a failure of growth of one side of the vertebra. There is literally 1/2 of a vertebra. This causes the spine to mal-align as the foundation of this spine is “missing a corner”. Depending upon the amount and position of this partially formed segment, a scoliosis or kyphosis (abnormal front to back curve) can develop. The X-rays and CT scan need to be analyzed to determine the growth potential and the curves need to be followed to see if abnormal progression is occurring. You need to see if maybe Shriner’s Hospitals in the USA would consider taking you. They are part of the Mason’s.
