    My mom ( She has diabetic but under the control ) got suffered foot swelling last 6 months , we consult orthopedic as well as rheumatologist and finally took MRI and again consult my doctors they gave some medicines but not well , now i would like to know what is the problem like this and what kind of treatment we to do for getting normal life.     Foot swelling has many sources and the spine is almost nerve related to this. The only way foot swelling can be related to the spine is with a disorder called CRPS or complex regional pain syndrome (use to be called RSD or reflex sympathetic dystrophy). This is very rare and should not be significantly considered in a differential diagnosis.

    With diabetes, the most common causes of foot swelling are DVT (deep vein thrombosis), fluid overload from heart or kidney disease and vascular disease (vein and occasionally artery disease).
