Over 4 years ago I injured my coxxyc. The doctors I went to said nothing was wrong with my tailbone and began to rule out colon cancer. After many tests, bone scans, etc. I was sent to a pain management doctor who said my tailbone was dislocated. I’ve had injections every three months for about 3 years and they have helped tremendously until a couple of months ago. Something changed and I hear/feel grinding. It’s hard to explain but causes more pain. Ive heard removal of coxxyc is risky and usually not successful. Do you have any suggestions?

I have removed a total of two coccyxes in my career. Both were significantly displaced, became better with injections and were quite painful with sitting. It is not a recommended surgery in general. You could visit a general surgeon who specializes in colorectal surgery to get another opinion.
