What level of compression would you recommend if I sit at a computer for 40 hrs. a week at work? These would be for preventative measures for blood clot.

Can wearing compression socks make the heart seem like it’s beating faster?

I would advise standing and taking a short walk every hour to two. When you are sitting, just contract and relax your calf muscles as this will prevent venous pooling. You can wear compression socks designed to prevent blood clots but this is probably overkill. These stockings will not increase heart rate.
