Dear All,
I had a minor atlas adjustment carried out by a seasoned professional. All went well but since then I have had painless clicking and cracking/ popping noises that are really disconcerting. I have been told it could take months/ years to resolve if at all. Has this happened to anyway else who has had such as procedure and how did things play out? Is there a way of reducing or switching this off ?
Thanks in advance for any feedback,
Matt
A manipulation increases the range of motion of joints occasionally. If the joint surface was originally irregular, the additional motion will cause increased “catching” of this irregular surface. The price to be paid for this motion is the noises (“cracking and popping”) that occur when these irregular surfaces pass over each other. These noises sound so loud due to the location of the ear to the neck. Without pain, there is nothing to worry about so try to ignore them and you should be back to “normal” soon.
