    The pain in in calve is negligible now.

    The strength doesn’t seem to be improved much.. Although it is difficult to test still. Should the strength be back immediately?

    Many times, the strength comes back quickly but that is not guaranteed. See the section on the website under “Nerve injuries and recovery” to understand how nerves can heal. There are occasions that the posterior foraminotomy may still allow residual some nerve compression. If the strength does not return in 6 months, a new MRI might be in order.
