Hello
I currently have back issues with pain on both lower left and right sides
of lumbar area also a new 6 month issue that comes and goes frequent urination
or “LUTS”
it seems with this issue my primary thinks its my back issue
as does urology I am not sure if this is a common issue or can happen
with nerve impingement in the l4 and l5 area.
any help would be grateful thank youMy MRI
The lumbar vertebra are in appropriate anatomic alignment. The
vertebral body heights are well-maintained. The bone marrow signal is
notable for degenerative endplate signal change at L4-5. The L4-5 disc
is moderately narrowed and there are small marginal osteophytes. The
remaining lumbar discs are unremarkable. The tip the conus medullaris
lies at T12-L1.
Paraspinal soft tissues are within the range of normal.
L1-2: The posterior disc margin is normal. Facets are normal. There
is no spinal canal, subarticular/lateral recess, or foraminal
stenosis.
L2-3: The posterior disc margin is normal. Facets are normal. There
is no spinal canal, subarticular/lateral recess, or foraminal
stenosis.
L3-4: A slight disc bulge is present. The facet joints are
unremarkable. There is no spinal canal, subarticular/lateral recess or
foraminal stenosis.
L4-5: A diffuse disc bulge is present with a posterior annular
fissure. The facet joints are unremarkable. The spinal canal is not
significantly narrowed. There is mild encroachment on the lateral
recesses. The neural foramen are narrowed, moderately on the left and
mildly on the right. There could be mild impingement on the L5 nerve
roots lateral recesses and L4 nerve roots in the neural foramen.
L5-S1: A slight disc bulge is present. The facets are normal. There
is no spinal canal, subarticular/lateral recess or foraminal stenosis
IMPRESSION:
1. Transitional vertebra at the lumbosacral junction, labeled L5 for
the purposes of this exam.
2. Degenerative disc disease at L4-5 with a disc bulge and posterior
annular fissure. There is mild lateral recess narrowing and moderate
left and mild right neural foramen stenosis. There could be mild
impingement on the L5 nerve roots in the lateral recesses and L4 nerve
roots in the neural foramen.
