If a person suffered a serious fall injuring or twisting their spine and damaging their L knee with a torn ACL, then within a short period of time exhibiting symptoms related to a thoracic arachnoid cyst such as radial pain and gate disturbance, severe pain in thoracic region then finally confirmed existence of the spinal cyst.
Is it feasible to assume the cyst was formed due to the wrenching of the spine during the fall? Or is it more likley that the cyst was aggravated from the fall and became symptomatic?
    Thank you

More likely that the cyst was preexisting and possibly aggravated by the fall.
