Hi doc, I just came across your videos on YouTube. Great advice! Got a question for you so I’m recently 3 weeks post op from acdf surgery on c6,c7 for a pinched nerve. Whiched caused left arm to go numb with tingling and tricep weakness with atrophy.I’ve been having trouble with my trap and shoulder post surgery. I know it will take time to heal things but this right shoulder was fine before surgery, do you know what this could be from? And also would it be ok to see a chiropractor to manipulation the above and below the fusion if sublaxated. My chiro said there will not be any rotary movement and it will not effect the fusion process. What are your thoughts they would be greatly appreciated.

You cannot have manipulation of your neck until the fusion is solid. After that, I think manipulation is fine (performed correctly of course). Pain in your trap and shoulder after surgery could be from positioning (putting you into the surgical position after you are asleep) or from an additional level that somehow became aggravated after the index surgery.

A good shoulder and neurological exam will help to differentiate these disorders.
