still have trouble with Neck after 9 years and 4 c spine surgery
s. still have intense pain and was wondering is a spinal stimulator would work? I have FUSION 2-7 anterior and rods and screws posterior. The last being down in 2008 after the front plate was in Less than 6 months had osteoarthritis set in and most of the Bone disintegrated. Corse i try NOT to take any drugs for the Pain and I am now looking to get a spin stimulator for my lower to mid back.after the neck surgery’s I will refuse any back fusion. so I guess what I’m asking is can they put the stimulator in my NECK as with the back at the same time?First, the cause of pain needs to be determined. Do you have residual nerve compression, a level that did not fuse or breakdown above or below the surgery? If there is nothing that seems to obviously predict why you are having pain, you could have a chronic non-discoverable pain generator. In this case, spinal cord stimulation can be useful. You should have a trial first and live with it for a couple of days. If you like the results, you could have one implanted.

A pain specialist generally will not do a workup for failed neck surgery syndrome. He will probably go directly to a stimulator. If you don’t have anything that can be addressed surgically, this is OK.
