Promise this will be the last question. I have copies of my X-Ray, MRI, and CT-scan myleogram. If I was looking at them what would be a indicator of a bone graft? Also the reports say no fusion, but I’m afraid to say that you wouldn’t have a fusion if you didn’t have a bone graft placed in the space. I had a neurosurgeon from Tulane look at the CT-Scan and say in his report that he did not see a good fusion across the fused area. Also stated there is no evidence of good bony formation in between the vertebral body at the site of the discectomy. Curious of should there be some type of bony formation even if the fusion did not take?

Normally, with a lack of fusion (pseudoarthrosis), there is some fusion of one side of the graft but not on the other. If another surgeon thought “he did not see a good fusion across the fused area”, you probably have a pseudoarthrosis.

Even with no fusion would there be any indication of a bone graft material in the disc space?

    Hello,

I was wondering if you could look at a X-Ray or CT-Scan and see any indication of the bone graft. After a year or so I would think that a allograft would show some type bone material.
