I am considering flexion-distraction therapy (i.e. Coxtechnic) for a cervical disc herniation/foraminal stenosis. I have already tried a little bit of cervical traction. is there any significant difference between the two modalities and is flexion-distraction safe for cervical disc herniation/foraminal stenosis?

Straight cervical traction is relatively safe although generally not too effective to treat cervical disc herniations. Cox technique falls into the same category but with using flexion and rotational moves does possibly increase the possibility of further herniation. A selective nerve root block will be much more effective for symptom reduction.
