    Heyy!!
I’m troubled with severe back pain. I feel numbness and weakness in both the legs. Sometimes the pain would be worse at night. I had many sleepless nights. I have tried certain ibuprofen and naproxen as a medication. But there is of no use. They gave me only a temporary relief. My aunt suggested about the spinal decompression therapy but I don’t have much idea on this. I have heard that it is a non-surgical decompression therapy. I have scheduled the appointment in a nearby clinic for spinal decompression therapy in Mississauga. Does this treatment have any side effects? Kindly share your views.

Spinal decompression therapy is essentially traction, what we treating doctors use to place patients in 40 years ago. The newer machines provide more comfortable traction but it is still traction (a belt on your hips and one on your legs-pulling your back apart). There is nothing wrong with traction but generally, the cost is very high for the use of these machines and the benefit is low. These machine protocols developed by the company require you to purchase multiple sessions instead of 2-3 trial treatments which I find to be inappropriate.
