I am having a sensation like a hot liquid is on the top of my foot, running along the inside of the top bone. I also sometimes experience it on my inner shin. It is only occurring on my right leg/foot. I have felt it very frequently the past few days. It does not hurt but just suddenly feels very hot. It almost feels like I peed down my leg/foot. I read about the Deep Peroneal Nerve on your website and was wondering if you have ever heard of anything like this happening. I am very healthy and am currently actively moving my body as I am studying to be a yoga teacher. Is this something to be concerned about?
A nerve that is irritable will cause a multitude of sensations. Your comment of “a sensation like a hot liquid is on the top of my foot, running along the inside of the top bone” is quite common for an L5 nerve irritation or occasionally a common peroneal neuropathy. If this is all you have, and have no pain or muscle weakness, I would not worry to much about these symptoms. There are times that a nerve can become irritated for reasons that can be very benign so keep track of the symptoms but if they don’t get worse or even if they fade away, ignore them.
