I thought I would give it a try and ask my question here. As of yesterday waking up from my nap, I wake up with neck pain and realize on my right side my bone is sticking out slightly and has a bit of pain to it. I wake up this morning to find the left side of the back of my neck, the top bone in the back neck area, sticking out slightly, and two fingernail lengths down another one is sticking out. I wanted to ask your opinion on this to see if “it’s normal” if I had slept wrong and it could recorrect itself but I thought I would get an idea or opinion of this cause.

It is not uncommon for someone to start palpating their own neck and discover “bumps” (that have been there since your inception). Some of these bony prominences are tender which trigger worry. Almost always, these mean nothing. There are no “out of place” bones. Don’t worry about these protrusions.
