    Hello
I have a history of lots of spine and cervical problems.
I have arthritis in neck also.
Recently, at a visit for neck pain, an x-ray was taken of my neck and it
was discovered that from back view my head is out of alignment with my spine in
a big way. What can cause this? Or has it been that way since birth?
I did have an accident some 30+ years ago where a farm tractor flipped over on me.
That caused my now suffering lumbar problems.
Just looking for reasons………..may not be any.
    Thanks for your time.
    Joel

Your head can be out of alignment do to various reasons. The spine can deform due to degenerative changes of the discs (common) or due to increased kyphosis (Scheuermann’s) or scoliosis. An old accident can cause a fracture which can cause deformity. See the section on normal spinal alignment to understand what alignment problems can occur.
