    Hi Doc
    Please can you advise me … I had fell of a roller chair falling in sitting position on the tile tearing my lower disc the pain got worse over time then MRI revealed annular tear with disc dessication and posteriolateral docs protrusion with effacement of the ventral the cal sacred… I am seeing a neurosurgeon who says I need surgery as the disc is damaged really bad and the pressure being put on my nerves is caused extreme pain and numbness.. Doc would like to remove partial damaged disc but states that if it does not hold up well I might need spinal fusion can you please advice me as I am so scared now..still awaiting surgery..

    First-you have to define your symptoms. See the section on how-to-describe-your-history-and-symptoms-of-lower-back-and-leg-pain to fully convey what symptoms you suffer from.

    Then you need to better describe your disc findings. Place the radiologist’s report on your reply so that I can have a better understanding of your disc disorder.
