Hi Dr. Donald Corenman,,
I am writing you this message because I need you advice on severe back pain which my mom is suffering from. She is suffering from this pain from last 6 years and because of which she could not even walk smoothly and could not travel in car and whenever she travel by car, the pain becomes unbearable due to car’s movement . Despite of taking medicine for so long, she could not get any relief from this pain.
We have consulted some doctors out here. Some doctors opined that we should go for surgery whereas some doctors have suggested to not go for surgery as it may lead to complete body failure due to some reasons relating to spinal cord. After having different suggestions including non-curable suggestion of this disease, I am bit surprised why not this problem can be cured?
I have come across your profile and I am happy to contact you as I have never met any doctor who is specifically such a vast experience for looking after problems relating to spinal cord.
Sir, we had got one MRI done 5-6 years back extract of which I have given below which may be helpful for you to understand the exact root cause of this problem:
MR FINDINGS REVEAL SPONDYLOTIC AND DISC DEGENRATIVE DISEASE WITH
1. MILD DIFFUSE DISC BULGE AT L3-L4 LEVEL EFFACING THE VENTRAL EPIDURAL FAT PLANES AND ENCROACHING UPON INFERIOR ASPECT OF BILATERAL NEURAL FORMINA WITH CONSEQUENTIAL COMPRESSIVE RADICULOPATHY.
2. DIFFUSE DISC BULGE WITH MODERATE BROAD BASED POSTERIOR PROTRUSION AND POSTERIOR ANNULAR TEAR AT L4-L5 LEVEL, COMPRESSING THE VENTRAL THECAL SAC AND ATTENUATING LATERAL RECESSES AND NEURAL FORMINA WITH CONSEQUENTIAL COMPRESSIVE RADICULOPATHY.
Please let me know if you need a scan copy, I would mail you over your mail id. If required, we would get a new MRI done to know the current position of this disease.
Please share your expert views on whether the said disease can be cured and what should be the best way to get relief from this disease.
Hope to see your response.
Thanks
