Good morning from England, your site looks very informative, I am asking on behalf of my brother who had the fusion done some15 years ago.
He has been in pain ever since, they used a metal plate to fuse the joints but now he is reaching the end of his tether. Is there anything that can be done like remove the plate to ease the pain.

Pain can be generated by the retained metal plate but there are many other potential pain generators. He needs a full work-up to determine what could be causing his current pain.

If the pain is generated by his retained metal, this can be removed.
