Dear sir, I got operation micro discectomy on 13 of nov then I got relieve from the buttock pain but now I have too much stiffness and discomfort in the site of the operation & pain not severe come & go & then I did another MRI with contrast & I show it to 4 neurosurgeons & 2 orthopaedic doctors here in uae , all told me it’s okey and you need a lot of physiotherapy & excersizes & swimming but only one doctor told me this disc is degenerated & it will stay cause the low back problem & go to epidural injection. But no body from all doctors comment on the degeneration of the disc as the intervertebral space not affected , but now I have very bad feeling of heavy and stiff in this area & I feel like wood board in my lower spine & like some one shrink me down all the time & no any improvement until now so what the Soln ,
Thanks,
By definition, a disc herniation is the result of a degenerative disc so this disc will of course be degenerative. Stiffness is not unusual after surgery and I would agree that an aggressive physical therapy program is necessary to restore range of motion and increase strength.
Do not worry about what this level looks like as your focus needs to be rehabilitation. (This is assuming there is no infection which would be unusual). I see severely degenerative discs all day long in patients without symptoms so start rehab and increase your strength.

That my l5 s1 disc appear in MRI faint black but not affect the intervertebral space but I want to know all of this discomfort & heavy from this
Degeneration or from muscles & lake of activities & whene you decide
Fusion or replacement of the disc . Because now i am very sad &
Depressed & I can not do my regular activities, I am 30 years old, pharmacistRegards
This disc could very well be the source of your lower back pain but you first need to complete at least three months of a rehabilitation program to regain strength and range of motion.
Do not yet focus on another surgery until all your rehabilitation is exhausted.
