TOPIC: Still have Lumbar pain 2 years after spinal fusion

Still have Lumbar pain 2 years after spinal fusion 2 years, 8 months ago #1384

I live in upstate N.y. I had Lumbar spinal fusion 2 years ago and still experience some of the same pain in that area as I did before surgery.I had the best Nuero surgen in our area Dr. Saeed Bajwa for my surgen.I don't know off the top of my head what numbers of area surgery was done on,( but I do know it was the last 3 vertibra in the Lumbar section. Anyway,I went through all the post fusion therapy but still experience some of the same symptoms I had before spinal fusion. Can you please explain to me what may or may not be going on in this situation?
This is the first website I have found that will actually let people ask questions about their problems. I also notice that when sitting for a period of time I get tingling down my legs and into feet and they fall asleep much more than before. Not sure if this has anything to do with my problem but also while laying down this tingling and falling asleep occurs in my arms and hands.
So if you have any idea what I should ask my surgen at my next visit I would aprreciate it. Thank you for your time.

There is a section on the website that discusses "failed spine surgery syndrome" under "conditions". Please peruse this and it may answer some of your questions.

There is a standard work-up to be done if spine surgery has failed. With a prior fusion, this would include a new MRI, new x-rays, a CT scan and a new physical examination. Comparison to your prior work-up for surgery is performed and potential diagnoses are elucidated.
