    Hi , I’m a 52 yrs male who had suffered a range
of severe symptoms for over 4 yrs
I’m pleased to say I had ADR @ C5/6 C6/7 back in October 2014 , the benefits were noticeable from 48 hrs after surgery . After finishing my physio in half the allotted time & regained neck movement , both side to side & up & down I started Nordic Walking & exercises classes which included weights to build up neck muscle along with balance & co-ordination exercises .
Apart from a couple of minor setbacks . EG Sprinting 30 yrds in Jan 2015 which took me 5 days to recover from . I made great progress & noticed improvements most weeks . The instructor @ the exercise class said I had made great progress & referred me to a gym , where I was to move onto Pilates & other spinal strengthening exercises .
However about 6 weeks ago I noticed an increase in pain around the shoulder blades combined with a wobbly sensation on other days , I assumed it was from twisting awkwardly when the bathroom cabinet came off one hook I put it back , with my body in the wrong posture . I was sore/stiff for a week , but seemingly recovered as I was out walking again after 5/6 days .
I contacted the hospital & explained what had happened . Both x-ray & MRI show artificial discs in alignment & no further wear to adjacent discs (as I had the results faxed over to my GP ). However, I and my cleaner have noticed my balance deteriorate considerably , along with an increase in pain & lack of mobility over the past 3/4 weeks . Also I’ve started feeling un-wellness combined with a heavy sensation in all of my body some mornings
I am an impetuous person & have a tendency to over exert when things are going well , that being the case I have given myself recovery days (1to 3) after all exercises .
My GP is going to check my blood work , including my thyroid which is 6 months overdue as I’m on thyroxine .
Some ” friends ” have said it’s my own fault which may or may not be true . In all honesty I thought it was soft tissue damage , which will heal in time , but my anxiety levels are going through the roof with worry , along with low mood .
I’m still getting out twice a week , but either by taxi or friends cars .
I’m not due back @ the hospital to see a member of the surgical team for another 6 weeks .
I’ve gone to an Accident & Emergency Clinic & seen an emergency doctor & they performed CAT scan on my C-spine & said everything is fine & it’s probably soft tissue damage . To sum up. In the last 5 weeks I’ve had an X-ray & MRI scan @ the hospital that performed the surgery & a CAT scan at an Emergency clinic . All scans are showing no additional issues & I find it difficult to believe soft tissue damage could cause such severe symptoms over such a “long time ” . I’m that concerned I’m thinking of going to a chiropractor .
Any insights , words of caution , or wisdom would be greatly appreciated .
    Regards
