I would like to thank the doctor for such an in-depth instruction on how to read an MRI for Cervical Compression. Magnificent. I recently underwent a ACDF for CSM. C4,C5 and C6 I was kept from help for 5 years by a pain management doctor who read an MRI worse than the one Dr. Corenman showed us. I had a great deal of neck pain, with arm numbness and tingling, light-headed feeling and loss of balance occasionally and difficulty in walking. Not to mention a great deal of lost strength. He quickly labeled me a pill seeker and I was done getting help for a while. He said the light headed feeling was from the pain drugs that kept me working the whole time while doing damage to myself in the process. Five years pass and there is a great deal of lost function in terms of dexterity and balance.

Fast forward to 2015. I see an Indian doctor at the Medical College of Wisconsin and he tells what Dr. Corenman could have told me 5 years earlier. CSM… After I learned what CSM was I became quite angry. I asked why this couldn’t have been seen earlier and that’s when I was treated like the enemy. No one would give a straight answer to my questions. I had to educate myself and Doctor Corenman was integral.

    Thanks again. Mike

Unfortunately, there are vast differences in the knowledge base in various pain doctors. Hopefully, there are increasing numbers that have great diagnostic skills but the educational curve is still somewhat low.
