Two Herniated Discs- Surgery on both at same time possible? 1 year, 2 months ago #4359

L2-L3 and L4-L5 discs require surgery. Is it possible to perform surgery for both at the same time? Are there additional risks?

There is no problem to perform surgery on two nonadjacent levels in the spine. There are no additional risks. There is a caveat however. If fusion surgery is contemplated, the stress will increase at the level sandwiched in-between.
