Hi, I have previously posted here regarding 3 prolapsed discs in my neck and now after 13 month’s I have now been diagnosed with fybromyalgia.

I want to know if my neck was to be operated on would I be expected to get any benefit from it. I am currently unable to do very much before I am in so much pain that I can only sit down or go to bed.

Traveling in the car is very difficult as the bumps and general motion increases pain very quickly.

I kind of have in the back of my mind that I have been written off with this diagnosis and will have difficulty with future diagnosis with everything being branded with “fibro”

Patients with fibromyalgia can still have separate symptoms from spinal disorders. This happens all the time. The physician has to be careful to discern what symptoms are from fibromyalgia and what is from the spinal disorder. Your neck symptoms could be from IDR or facet arthritis. See these topics on the website.
