C4-C5: DIFFUSE DISC BULGE CONTRIBUTING TO MILD BILATERAL FORAMINAL STENOSIS. NO SIGNIFICANT SPINAL CANAL STENOSIS
C5-C6: DIFFUSE DISC BULGE CONTRIBUTING TO MILD BILATERAL FORMAINAL STENOSIS. NO SIGNIFICANT SPINAL CANAL STENOSIS

*MILD MULTI-LEVEL CERVICAL SPONDYLOSIS WITH C3-C4 MILD SPINAL CANAL STENOSIS AND C5-C7 MILD BILATERAL FORAMINAL STENOSIS FROM DIFFUSE DISC BULGES.
SYMPTOMS: FIRST THREE FINGERS ON RIGHT HAND NUMB, TINGELING AND COLD. EXTREME PAIN CONSTANTLY AND PAIN MEDS BRING DOWN TO A TOLERABLE 7 MOST DAYS. READING AND WRITING ARE VERY RESTRICTED CAUSES EXTREME PAIN, NOT MANAGEABLE BY MEDS. VISION DISTURBANCES WITH POSITION. TINGELY SENSATION STRAIGHT DOWN NECK INTO T-SPINE. I ALSO HAVE L-SPINE ISSUES OF DJD, FACET HYPERTROPHY, DISC DEHYDRATION AND FACET LOADING PAIN, SPONDYLOSIS, AND ARTHROPATHY, DDD.

I AM 38 YEARS OLD, 5’2″ AND WEIGH 170 POUNDS. I HAVE HAD THESE ISSUES FOR A LITTLE OVER A YEAR THAT ARE PROGRESSIVELY GETTING WORSE. I DO HAVE AREAS OF PARATHESIA THROUGH OUT ENTIRE BODY, AS WELL AS INVOLUNTARY JERKS IN LEGS AND HANDS THAT I’M NOT SURE WHATS CAUSING THEM BUT BELIEVE ITS NERVE COMPRESSION. NO WEAKNESS OF ARMS BUT EXTREME FATIGUE WITH MINIMAL ACTIVITY. AM STILL VERY ACTIVIE, HOWEVER ACTIVITY CONTRIBUTES TO PAIN LEVELS NOT MANAGEABLE BY MEDS. I DO HAVE LIMITED ROM TO THE LEFT SIDE OF MY NECK.

ANY INFORMATION YOU COULD PROVIDE WOULD BE VERY APPRECIATED, THANKS SO MUCH!

Your neck MRI is not that bad. You only have mild foraminal stenosis so the compression on your nerve roots is not too bad (based upon a radiologist interpretation). The symptoms in your hand (“FIRST THREE FINGERS ON RIGHT HAND NUMB, TINGELING AND COLD. EXTREME PAIN CONSTANTLY”) could be carpet tunnel syndrome-see this topic on the website.

“INVOLUNTARY JERKS IN LEGS AND HANDS” is called myoclonus and is not related to anything in your spinal cord (again according to the radiologist).

Fatigue in your case could be metabolic (a condition related to your internal chemistry such as hypothyroidism). A visit to your internist with a full laboratory work-up would be in order.

Thank you for your response. The constant pain I was referring to is in my neck shoulders and shoulder blades. The fingers are basically just dead, no pain. I apologize my email ran together and was confusing I really appreciate tour responding to me. If I may ask one more question. Is there anything I can do to improve my ability to read or write more than a paragraph, in the aspect of exercise? The level of pain is so extreme with these activities it is unbearable even on narcotics.

Thanks so much for all that you do with this site.

Neck pain is a different animal than arm or hand pain. Neck pain generally develops from degenerative disc disease or degenerative facet disease. A work-up would be required to determine what levels are involved and what needs to be done.
