Just curious, when any surgeon quotes a patient their fusion rate, what is the statistical evidence that the fusion rate is legitimate ?

It would appear that a surgeon could simply give a guesstimate which may not be entirely accurate ?

You are correct. The information that your surgeon gives you is an estimation by him or her. It really boils down to a level of trust. Do you believe that this individual is being truthful or could there be some “bluster” in the discussion. If you have doubts, I would find another surgeon.
